User Reviews
I have gathered user reviews for this TV from various websites, to make it easy for you to gauge true customer opinion - I cover both positive and negative reviews and comments to make it realistic and unbiased.

"Pros: Superb picture quality - Very good SD picture - Tons of tuning features - Plenty of inputs
Cons: Anti glare coating is worthless - Skin tones slightly too pink"
- Cnet.com Customer review

"We bought this tv for our bedroom we were replacing an old 36″ crt. We got it on sale for $790 so we didn’t expect much, but it turns out this is the new model with touch buttons, 3D, 3 HDMI ports.

We don’t have HD in this room so I expected the SD picture to be rather pixelated. But man I was so impressed on how well it displays SD content that I’m almost inclined not to put in an HD reciver in this room. I did hook up my pc and used it as a monitor and wow it looks great!

Picture is smooth and the colors have alot of depth, I also hooked up my Xbox360 to it and the games look awesome! This tv looks cleaner and crisper than my $3000 Samnsung 61 inch DLP. I can’t believe i! If your looking for a 42″ TV this is the one to buy! Don’t worry about it being 720p I’ve compared it with my 1080p set and you can’t notice the difference."
- Amazon.com customer

"Pros: Picture you can not beat. This is a 720p but on 42″ or smaller it is equivalent to the 1080p on larger tv’s. I am extremely satisfied with my tv.

Cons: I wish the sound was a little louder but for the price and the picture im not going to complain."
- Cnet.com Customer reviewer

"Then came the real reason I wanted a Plasma… My Sony Playstation 3 AKA Blue-Ray Player.

OH MY GOD… I had purchased Metal Gear Solid 4 and Grand Turismo 5 Prologue. I connected it USING A $20 Radio Shack HDMI Cable (Dont spend $100 on Monster Cable, its not worth it) and the games came alive. I could feel myself driving in the Ferrari F430, I could literally feel my self in the middle of war as I played MGS5. The definition, color depth, sharpness and lack of image noise was incredible. Its a great TV for any PS3 or new generation video game console. "
- Amazon.com customer

"The samsung 450 42″ plasma has been a great Television so far. From my experience so far I would say that if you are in the market for a 40-50 flat panel tv this is the way to go. While the plasma 720p isnt as high quality as a 1080p 120hz lcd, it is more than adequate for everyday uses. I mean, really how many blu-rays are you actually going to watch. Also, High Definition cable is only broadcast in 720 anyway! The really beauty of this piece. Is the price. It is much less than a similar sony or panasonic model. The Plasma does give off quite a bit of heat, but its lifespan is longer than an lcd and the motion blur is not as bad. The styling is alo another plus, it is a piano black gloss finish and the pale blue light illuminates when turned on. It is also very easy to take off the stand and mount on a wall. "

VO42LF vs SV420XVT: 42″ Vizio Widescreen LCD HDTV

If you are looking at buying a 42″ Vizio widescreen LCD HDTV then you have to make a decisino between several models. For this article I have chosen two of the best selling Vizio 42″ televisions and put them side by side. You will see that the specs are almost the same besides in a few key areas and feature sets, with one having the whole Vizio she-bang and the other being a toned down version.

Specification Comparison
When comparing these two TV’s on paper, things look very similar. Both are full high definition models.

The main difference is that the SV420XVT comes with all the top of the line features from Vizio, whereas the V042LF is a TV with similar specs but without the bells and whistles (Although the price difference between the two is not huge. The main differences are:

The SV420XVT is part of Vizio’s XVT series (Extreme VIZIO technology) and marks their top of the line range. It includes 120Hz processing and SRS TruSurround XT Sound.

120Hz Processing
SV420XVT is a 120Hz processing model and this is the main difference between the two. 120Hz is the best processing speed currently and in combination with Vizio’s Smooth Motion Video technology you will get increased smoothness and fluidity in the picture. The detail is also much better.

SRS TruSurround XT
Also unique to the SV420XVT is SRS TruSurround XT which is a state of the art sound system.

Colors
V042LF: 16.77 million
SV420XVT: 1.06 Billion

Contrast Ratio
V042LF: 5000:1 (w/DCR)
SV420XVT: 6500:1 (w/DCR)

As you can see the V042LF is simply the cheaper version of the full featured SV420XVT. Both are excellent TV’s so your choice will depend upon your budget and your need for all the top features and latest technology.

Conclusion - Which Should You Choose?

The SV420XVT, whilst only costing a little more than the VO42LF, has all the bells and whistles of a top of the range Vizio TV therefore it gets my full recommendation.

The Vizio SV420XVT has continually come out on top in reviews and ratings and with good reason. It truly is an amazing TV and deserves the praise.

It only costs a bit more than the V042LF so I can highly recommend it as your next 42″ Vizio Widescreen LCD HDTV.

How to Choose a LCD TV and the Difference Between Full HD and HD Ready

I came across this handy article that explains the difference between HD Ready TV’s and Full HD TV’s - a common question amongst buyers.
When you’re done reading, check out this offer of a Free Vizio LCD 52″ HDTV

With so many LCD TV’s in the market place and a massive variety to choose from it can be confusing choosing the right LCD for you.

Here are a few tips that should help you make the right choice when choosing your LCD TV…

1). Find out what your budget is? And what picture quality you are willing to pay for

2). With so many models in the market offering different specifications the price can vary a lot. So be sure to figure out which room you are buying the LCD TV for. The general rule from house to house across the UK is that the best TV will be placed in the living room with smaller LCD TV’s or LCD TV’s with lower specs being used around the house.

3).Once you know what your budget is and where you will be placing the LCD TV its time to have a look at the specifications along with the design and style. The main features to look for in a LCD TV are the picture quality and connectivity. You will get LCD TV’s that come HD ready and also come with Full HD. The difference between the two is the amount of pixels that are available. So you might have heard of the term 1080p and 720p.

Difference between Full HD and HD ready

The truth in the matter is that a 1080p LCD TV will give you the highest picture quality there is, however in order to get this picture quality that true HD 1080p can offer, you will need to have the right equipment that can support it. So what is this equipment that i talk about? To be honest there isn’t a lot of equipment out there that supports 1080p and when talking about screen resolution the average consumer doesn’t have the slightest idea what this means to them.

The difference between HD and full HD is barely noticeable to the average eye, if you ask me they both produce excellent quality images.

To benefit from full HD you will need these 3 things

• HD Plasma or LCD

• Correct leads (HDMI-component video)

• HD Source ( HDTV Tuner, HD Satellite, HD Cable Box, Blu-Ray, HD DVD Player)

The decision is with you, Full HD or HD ready?

Connections/connectivity

The connectivity that LCD’s provide are also very important. LCD’s support many connections which will allow you to connect all of your equipment to your TV. Connectivity includes HDMI sockets, scart lead sockets, component video and many more. Please keep a look out for an up and coming article about connections and connectivity.

4). In general the majority of LCD TV’s provide more then enough functions and the average consumer will find that the majority of the specifications will never get used. However if you have much equipment that will need connecting to the LCD then go for one that provides many ways of connecting devices up. Normally found under the connectivity section of the LCD details.

The LCD TV’s that are available at Ravs Appliances all offer HD ready, integrated freeview and digital ready functions with more then enough connectivity to support basic to advanced configurements. Full HD ready models are also available and are noted under the specification sections.

Where To Find Honest Vizio Reviews

The internet is a great place to find opinions and reviews on products and Vizio reviews are well covered on the web.

So where can you turn to discover the most accurate, unbiased and detailed reviews of Vizio televisions?

Well, besides the very site you are on now (which I might add contains some of the latest, hottest and most honest reviews you’ll read), you can also view such sites as Cnet.com and Amazon.com

CNET
CNET provides reviews of all sorts of technology related products and they have a handy ratings system that makes it easy to see which TV’s they think are great. There are a few Vizio TV’s rated very highly at CNET. This includes the SV470XVT which has a rating of 7.3 and 5 Vizio TV’s rated at 7.0, which are:

Vizio P50
Vizio VOJ370F
Vizio VO32L
Vizio VO32LF
Vizio P50HDM

Amazon.com
For raw customer opinion, you can’t beat Amazon.com
I view Vizio reviews there constantly in order to help form my opinions as it doesn’t get much more honest than a real customer coming online to tell people what they think of a product - and that is exactly what happens at Amazon.com

Many Vizio TV pages at Amazon are choc full of these types of reviews and comments and you will find that a large majority of them are positive. That is good news for anyone in the market for a Vizio TV, whether it be LCD or Plasma.

If you are considering buying soon, then Vizio reviews online will assist you in making the right choice for your needs and budget.

Vizio Televisions - Trash or Treasure?

Vizio televisions include both plasma and LCD models ranging from 720p up to the superb full high definition resolution of 1080p.

But how does the quality of Vizio stand up to the competition and in particular, the more famous brands of Samsung, Sony and Panasonic?

One look around the web for ‘Vizio tv reviews’ will present you with various opinions, but the overwhelming consensus is that Vizio provide exceptional value for money in TV packages that are highly affordable and accessible to the average consumer.

It is Vizio that has finally made owning a Plasma television a reality for people who could not otherwise afford such an expensive item.

Vizio are undoubtable the best ‘budget’ TV manufacturer. They stand ranks above any other ‘no name’ brand and should not be categorized at the same level.

I place Vizio in the upper half of the middle level of TV makers. That is, they are streets above other television brands (they usually cost a bit more too), but are not quite on par with Samsung (but come close with some models).

Vizio televisions are feature packed and provide exceptional value for money that simply can not be found anywhere else.

Vizio 32″ LCD TV VO32L - 3 Improvements

The Vizio 32″ LCD TV VO32L is part of the acclaimed Evolution Series from Vizio. This review will point out not only the good, but also a few less than desirable elements of this 1080i High Definition TV. I will let you know whether they are worth overlooking on favor of the benefits.

Highlights of the VO32L
There have been some great improvements with this TV over past models. The Vizio 32″ LCD TV VO32L is a step above the VW series which is the entry level series from Vizio. The VO32L has better specifications plus extra features. Some of the main improvements and features include:

1. Improved Contrast Ratio
The backlight now uses a dynamic system therefore the contrast ratio has been increased (the older VW series of TV’s used a static backlight). The contrast ratio is rated at 1100:1 or 5500:1 with DCR.

Vizio GV47LF Gallevia 47″ LCD HDTV Review

The Vizio GV47LF is a 47″ 1080p (full high definition) LCD HDTV. It is also known as the Gallevia.

This particular model is a high end TV with a price tag of around $2000. Vizio tend to give fancy names to their top of the range televisions and ‘Gallevia’ gives you an exotic and classy feeling. It almost sounds like the name of a Ferrari. Which is exactly how I would describe the GV47LF - the Ferrari of 47″ HDTV’s.

Just look at the specs of this super HDTV:
